INDIA ON DEMOCRACY INDEX(2017) OF EIU

Democracy index is the list of 167 countries which are arranged in order of democracy. This is published by EIU (Economist Intelligent Unit). In this list India slipped to rank 42 down from the last year rank 32.EIU blames that the rise of rightists and vigilantes against “minorities and dissent voices” are the reasons behind this. EIU is the research and analysis division of the UK-based media “The Economist Group”. Created in 1946 and describe itself as having experience in helping business, financial firms and governments. The index ranks 165 independent countries and 2 territories on the basis of five categories: electoral process, pluralism, civil liberties, the functioning of government, and political participation. This list has been divided into broad four categories: full democracy, flawed democracy, hybrid regime and authoritarian regime. FLAVOURED MILK IN HARYANA MIDDAY MEAL  In Haryana, flavored milk will be distributed into government school children’s in mid-day meal thrice a day. And it is prepared in school by milk powder. National Programme of Nutritional Support to Primary Education Commonly known as Mid-Day-Meal (Modified Scheme) was launched in Haryana State on 15th August, 2004 as a Centrally Sponsored Scheme.  There are 61,120 student from class 1 to 8th are being served mid-day meal in the school. Nutritious food in the form of midday meal is served to the children to improve their physical development.  Every children will be distributed 200 gm of milk for which 20 gm of milk powder is sufficient. With, this government tries to eliminate calcium deficiency in malnourished children. Milk powder will be supplied by the local vita milk plant as per the requirement of school. Distribution of milk will be started in 2018-2019 session.
